Terms of Service — The Northern Exchange

1. About Us The Northern Exchange is an online marketplace operated from the United Kingdom, selling a curated mix of secondhand clothing, preloved collectables, and brand-new items sourced via our dropshipping partners. Our products are also listed across third-party platforms including Vinted and eBay.

2. Acceptance of Terms By placing an order or browsing our store, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

3. Our Products

  • Secondhand & Preloved Items: These are pre-owned goods. Condition, age, and any wear are described as accurately as possible in each listing. All secondhand items are sold as described and may also be listed on Vinted.
  • Collectables: Higher-value collectable items may also be listed on eBay. In the event of a simultaneous sale, we will notify you promptly and offer a full refund if the item is no longer available.
  • New Dropshipped Items: Some products are brand new and fulfilled directly by our supplier. Delivery times for these items may differ from our in-house stock. This will be noted on the product listing.

4. Pricing & Payment All prices are displayed in GBP and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major payment methods available at checkout. We reserve the right to cancel any order where a pricing error has occurred.

5. Shipping & Delivery

  • In-house items (secondhand & collectables) are dispatched within 2–5 working days.
  • Dropshipped items are fulfilled by our supplier and may have separate delivery timescales, which will be stated on the product page.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party couriers once an item has been dispatched.

6. Returns & Refunds

  • Second hand items: Due to the nature of preloved goods, all sales are final unless an item is significantly not as described. Please review listings carefully before purchasing.
  • New/drop-shipped items: You have the right to return unused items within 14 days of receipt in accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Return postage costs are the buyer's responsibility unless the item is faulty.
  • Collectables: Returns are accepted within 14 days if the item is not as described. Items must be returned in the same condition as received.

7. Multi-Platform Listings Some items listed on The Northern Exchange may also be available on Vinted or eBay. We make every effort to keep stock availability up to date, but in the rare event of a duplicate sale, we will contact you within 24 hours and issue a full refund.

8. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Northern Exchange shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our store or products purchased.

9. Governing Law These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
